I filled in as Princess Minette/Conchita for the final 16 performances of Ocelot Unchained!. What a fun show to be a part of! Here's the description: "fiendishly funny” Cape Cod Chronicle “There is a smart mix in this comedy….a dynamic reminiscent of the Princess Bride” Provincetown Banner A new comedy adventure by Stephen Russell July 12-September 1, 2016 Monday-Thursday, 7:30pm Sword fights! Silly jokes! Songs! That’s what we love at WHAT for Kids and this year’s show has more of all of that! There’s also a seven piece band playing brilliant music throughout the show! This sequel to our 2009 production of Puss in Boots, begins with a rapid fire recap of that play, just in case you missed it, and then we’re off and running, as Puss, aka Ocelot (Mae Cutrona) is kidnapped by agents of that evil pair Cardinal Balmont and Princess Minette (Holly Hansen) and handed over to pirates! When Ocelot eats all the rats on the board the ship, the grateful pirates choose Ocelot to be their new captain, but his triumph is short-lived as a storm washes him overboard and lands him on the shores of New Iberia, where he’s rescued by a mysterious man named Don Jose (Ari Lew) and his little dog, Bruno. Meanwhile, Ocelot’s best friends, Jean-Claude (Nathan Scalise) and Anne-Claire (Shauna Condon) follow him across the ocean to New Iberia, where they, too, find themselves in danger! Will the three friends be re-united? And will they ever get back to France and restore good King Louis (Dick Morrill) to his throne? Of course, my friends! But before that happens, they’ll have to deal with a crazy – and very funny – Viceroy and his even crazier – and even funnier – daughter (Holly Hansen), as well as a ghost and, finally, that evil pair themselves, Balmont and Minette. It all takes place in our brand new tent, the Larry Phillips Performance Pavillion, right where the old tent used to be! It’s a little longer, a little wider and, best of all, the center poles are gone so there’s not a bad seat in the house. WHAT for Kids* presents The Surfside Snoops and the Ghost of Great Island Written and directed by Stephen Russell Mondays through Thursdays July 9 – August 28, 7:30pm It’s the summer of 1961 and a series of burglaries has the usually peaceful outer Cape village of Bayville in an uproar! What’s more, the ghost of a pirate seems to be terrorizing visitors to Great Island and even lobbing cannonballs at boats in the harbor! Have the dead really come back to haunt the living? One thing is certain: evil is once again stalking the Narrow Land. Sounds like a job for those intrepid girl detectives, the Surfside Snoops (Lucy Blood and Freya Rich), and their clairvoyant cat, Fluffy! WHAT for Kids presents the World Premiere of a new mystery/comedy in the tradition of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Will there be music, jokes and sword fights? Wouldn’t be WHAT for Kids without ‘em! Lots of fun for everyone! *Kids not required SNOOPS REVIEWS http://provincetown.wickedlocal.com/article/20140724/NEWS/140728256/12435/ENTERTAINMENT My first play since moving to the greater New York area: The Attic Ensemble's DETECTIVE STORY! COME SEE IT!!! November 8th-17th The Attic Ensemble 83 Wayne Street, Jersey City, New Jersey 07302 I play a Shoplifter who gets picked up after trying to steal from Best's, a popular 1949 department store. The show delves into a day in the life of an NYPD squad room...you know what? Billy Mitchell (le director) can explain it much better: August, 1949. A fascinatingly realistic picture of routine cases brought into a bustling metropolitan police station in the course of an evening. Out of the welter of human misery, vice and foolishness there emerges the moving case of a decent young man who has stolen money from his employer; a hardened criminal dragging his young friend down with him; a lawless NJ "gardener" with a corrupt lawyer; and others. In the throes of the tumult is Detective McLeod -- a man whose black & white vision of justice will be challenged by the woman he loves most: his wife. A cast of 22 men and women will bring this drama of truth and consequences to life on the stage. DETECTIVE STORY INFO & REVIEWS
